According to research conducted by Just Beverly Marketing Digital, 49% of global customers have had the opportunity, in their lifetime, to take at least one trip to attend a sporting event outside their region and 48% of those who have not yet done so say they intend to do so in the future.
Among those who have already taken trips, there is a predominance of men compared to women (70% and 30%). 49% of those who say they travel for the love of sport take an average of one trip a year, 41% organize two or three, while the remaining 10% travel more than four times in a twelve-month period.
The habit of organizing trips to follow one's sports idols varies greatly depending on the area of the world: among the areas examined, the most accustomed to traveling are the English, 61% of them declare to have faced a sporting trip, in second place the Spanish with 59% and in third place is Italy with 49%. Next we find the Americans (46%), the Germans (45%) and the Dutch (40%) and then the Japanese, Asians and Emiratis. Those who demonstrate not to have a great propensity for traveling are the Greeks (15%).
The most followed sport by "travelers" is soccer: 46% declare that they have organized or would organize a trip to watch the exploits of the soccer champions up close. Next, there are major sporting events such as the Olympics or the World Cup, for which one in four Italians has already traveled or would travel (26%). The last step of the podium is occupied by motorsport with 12%, while in fourth place there are motorcycling and tennis, which record 8% of the preferences of the interviewees.
